Washington Street And Embarcadero West Garage at 101 Washington Street, Oakland, California.

Horrible place to park for Events around Jack London Square. The bad thing, it doesn't have to be with some thought put into by it's owner and employees. There are actually two exits however the one arrow pointing up towards to Exit sign looks like it it pointing to the one exit on the right so cars back up for 30 minutes to an hour just to exit after big events. IF they simply put two red arrows, one pointing left and one pointing straight, people might understand, two arrows, tow exits. For those hard heads, a sandwich board saying "Second exit ahead" would be all it would take.

After spending 40 minutes stuck on the 4th floor, I went down to see why (my driver stayed in the car). The clerks were laughing and talking and could be heard up the ramp. No one was going to the second exit because they did not know it was there, problem with the signs.

I yelled down the ramp and asked if someone could come direct traffic to the second exit and then I heard them mocking me and laughing. Clerks at both exits simply ignored me and kept laughing and talking between themselves. I then began directing traffic to the second exit. People were yelling and honking and the clerks just laughed. Everyone was yelling thank you and yelled at the clerks who were now just pushing the bottom manually and collecting tickets and still laughing at everyone leaving. Of course they had to, none of the tickets had the right amount anymore since You pay before leaving. They did not start letting people out before the next fee was due, after 30 minutes.

My car was down in 10 minutes after waiting for 40 minutes barely moving. The clerks seem to enjoy keeping people blocked in the garage and do nothing to move the cars to the second exit. The owner obviously doesn't question why so many tickets are collected manually, after 30 minutes.

Go anywhere but there for an event.
